Welcome to Diva Divergent!

Who we are & our mission

Not just a website! Diva Divergent is a space that celebrates diversity of thought and provides actionable insights for the everyday challenges of neurodivergent women like you and us.

We aim to be a comprehensive resource for those seeking to better understand themselves and the world they live in. We want to help empower neurodivergent women to embrace their uniqueness and navigate life with confidence.

Our experience & expertise

We have nearly three decades of experience in web publishing, book production and newsstand magazine creation. Back in the late ’90s, Nancy & Betsy took an unconventional path as web entrepreneurs.

They worked entirely online and — if you can imagine — were thousands of miles apart, communicating almost entirely by online chat (specifically, ICQ, back in the day), and they didn’t meet in person for the first five years! In hindsight, this unique work environment was perfectly in sync with their neurodivergent needs.

What we offer

We cover everything from lifestyle and well-being to career advice and relationship tips. Our goal is to be a reliable source of actionable advice, emotional support, and current information that’s relevant to you.

The Diva in you

In a world quick to misunderstand neurodiversity, being called a diva often translates into negative stereotypes — picky, high-strung, demanding. But here, “diva” signifies a transformative journey toward self-awareness.

It’s about recognizing personal needs, unique neurological wiring, and employing strategies to create an accommodating environment. By doing so, Diva Divergent aims to empower women to avoid emotional meltdowns and circumvent burnout.

Here, we’re reclaiming and refashioning the term “diva” into something affirming. It’s not about being demanding or high-strung. It’s about understanding yourself deeply and advocating for your needs in a healthy and productive way. Welcome to Diva Divergent, where being a “diva” is about self-respect, not self-centeredness.

Why choose Diva Divergent?

Why? Because we get it. We understand the complexities and the beauty of neurodiverse minds. We’re built on authenticity, expertise and compassion. From articles and resources to community stories, we’re committed to giving you the tools you need to navigate the intricacies of being a neurodivergent woman in today’s world.

So thank you for visiting Diva Divergent. Your journey towards understanding, advocacy, and empowerment starts right here with us.

Our team

Nancy Price and Betsy Bailey, Publishers

Nancy and Betsy always sensed they were a bit out of step with the conventional rhythm of life, but it wasn’t until much later that they recognized this as their own neurodivergence.

The pieces started to fall into place when some of their children were diagnosed with a range of conditions like autism, ADHD, generalized anxiety, mood disorders, and sensory processing disorder, among others.

As research evolved to explore how neurodiversity manifests specifically in girls and women, the picture became even clearer for them. These firsthand experiences, along with the emerging science, drive us in our mission today.

Nancy J Price isn’t just a seasoned web publisher; she’s a curator of content with an eye for detail. Known for her work in reviving fragments of American history through Click Americana, Nancy has demonstrated a knack for creating spaces that inform and inspire.

Alongside Betsy Bailey, she co-founded Myria.com and SheKnows.com, applying her deep understanding of narrative and culture to the online sphere. Now, she brings that same dedication to Diva Divergent, contributing her unique blend of experience and cultural insight to enrich the lives of neurodivergent women.

Betsy Bailey was an early internet adopter with a passion for crafting stories and building communities. Starting with Myria.com in 1998, which initially focused on motherhood, she expanded her reach by co-founding SheKnows.com, a website that became a leading resource for women.

Her gift for connecting with diverse audiences now finds a focused application at Diva Divergent. Betsy’s extensive experience is instrumental in shaping our approach to content and fostering a strong, supportive community.
